About Us

As a resident of the Central Coast for a number of years I've been witness to all of the growth and changes. As a resident and home owner I'm here to stay. My collegiate education is centered on accounting, with a subsequent career in accounting that lasted until 1992 when I joined Main Stream Financial. My personal hobbies include family, golf, skiing, travel, and music.

I came to Main Stream Financial as the original loan processor. Combined with extensive accounting experience of over 18 years, I have the experience and the skill to size up a loan to determine if it can be done and how it can best be done. I know from loan processing experience how to best package the loan and sell it to an underwriter. Strengthening a loan package with poor credit, low income, high credit debt, and a poor savings pattern by the borrower is a challenge that I gladly accept. I also accept the challenge of closing the loan faster than others.

I take pride in giving every loan a fighting chance and in being honest if there is no hope. My attempt is to provide undivided attention to borrower and realtor alike. Each loan is the most important loan that I'm working. I take pride in my closing record, and my record for rescuing loans that were denied elsewhere. I keep all informed and the escrow alive from start to finish.

Main Stream Financial Inc. is a full service mortgage brokerage company with 3 offices in Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Grover Beach, California which has been originating loans on the Central Coast for the past 9 years. Its current staff includes 4 full-time loan officers with over 50 years of combined experience in the lending business. Main Stream Financial originates loans for real estate purchases and refinancing of existing mortgages. Their marketing efforts have concentrated on 3 areas, the local real estate professionals, a client base of over 3,000 satisfied customers, and through their own 30 minute info-radio program, which they've been airing twice weekly for the past eight years. All loan programs are automated and each agent has either a state-of-the-art laptop computer or PC to process any loan package. All of Main Stream Financial's loans, whether government, conventional or other type of loan program, are brokered to over 50 approved wholesale lenders. Annually, Main Stream Financial must complete and furnish to HUD a certified audit of their lending programs and their adherence to federal guidelines.

Main Stream Financial was founded and incorporated by James S. Kelly, and his daughters Michelle and Nancy in 1991. Mr. Kelly, who's served as Main Stream Financial's President since its inception, has a background in real estate development, real estate syndication and commercial brokerage. The company prides itself on a stable management environment with three of its four loan officers having over11 years tenure with Main Stream Financial.
